WhatsApp is found to be making it easier for businesses to create new orders for customers in chats. The new experience will let business users add items that they are selling to a customer in the chat screen. The new feature is said to be under internal testing, though some of its references were spotted in a recent beta release for Android users by WABetaInfo.
It bears mentioning that the encrypted messaging service has been working hard to enhance the shopping experience of users for some time now. According to the report by WABetaInfo, a service that tracks new features of the messaging platform, WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.22.9.12 has carried some references about the new business-focused update.
The new feature would be available through the “Order” shortcut, which appeared in a previous beta update for WhatsApp. Once the shortcut is tapped, it would allow business users to create new orders with the option to add items they are about to sell to customers in the chats.
WABetaInfo has also shared a screenshot of this new feature, which shows that WhatsApp will let business users add item from their catalogue using the ‘Catalogue’ feature that was introduced in 2019. These business users will be able to specify the quantity they are including in the order, and the app will automatically send the order to the customer in open chat with the business.
However, the exact details regarding the ‘Order’ shortcut will be announced by the company later and it will likely take a long time before the feature is release to everyone as WhatsApp tends to take a long time to make features public after their internal testing.
It is pertinent to mention that WhatsApp has already introduced the ‘Add to Cart’ button as well as a Shopping Button to help businesses easily sell their products through the app. The company remains active towards improving the shopping experience of users.
