The trial run of the Islamabad Orange Line Metro Bus Service from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad Airport had commenced from today (Saturday) on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Officials from Capital Development Authority, NHA , ICT Administration and from other related departments inspected the docking, scheduling loading and unloading of passengers and other operational details were checked.
This trial run of the Islamabad Orange Line Metro Bus Service will continue tomorrow as well. After the completion of trial, Prime Minister of Pakistan will inaugurate this route.
According to the details, the Islamabad Orange Line Metro will have 30 modern buses, which will work along a track of 25.6 KMs and has 7 stations and one platform near New Islamabad Airport.
Initially the CDA under directions of PM made arrangement with Punjab Mass transport Authority for 15 Orange painted buses for the trial run of the Islamabad Metro Bus Service.
It is estimated that 25000 to 26000 passengers will commute daily on this project, while at the direction of Prime Minster of Pakistan no fare will be charged during the holy month of Ramadan.
It is pertinent to mention here that depot, bus stations and track is being completed by NHA whilst buses have been arranged by CDA.
