Former Australian cricketer, Andrew Symonds, has died in a car crash in Queensland. According to the reports, the 46-year-old cricket legend was involved in a car accident around 10:30 pm on Saturday night outside Townsville, where he lived in retirement.
In a statement, the Queensland police said Andrew Symonds was driving a Hervey Range Road near the Alive River Bridge when his car left the road and rolled over.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and attempted to revive the ex-cricketer, however, he died of his injuries.
Andrew Symonds played all three formats of the game and was a right-handed middle-order batsman. The former cricketer had played 26 Tests, 198 One-Day Internationals, and 14 T20 Internationals for Australia.
He was also a two-time World Cup winner during both Australia’s undefeated title runs in 2003 and 2007 as well as a key member of the Test side in the mid-2000s.
