Imran Khan Gives Call For Countrywide Protest on Sunday

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan, has given a call for countrywide protest on Sunday against the rising inflation and hike in prices of petroleum products by the coalition government.

According to his video message, Imran Khan called on the people of Pakistan to hold a countrywide protest on Sunday at 9pm against the incumbent government’s failure to control rising inflation and increasing the petrol price in the country.

“Everyone has to come out against this imported government, otherwise inflation will further increase,” said PTI Chairman Imran Khan while announcing the protest on Sunday.

Imran Khan added that he will address the protestors at 10pm that day. Moreover, the Former Prime Minister said that he will announce a plan of action for the future.

“As a nation, we have to raise our voice against the rising inflation and this imported government,” he said, adding that no-confidence motion was brought against him with help of the US. “Our people became turncoats and our allies left us,”

Speaking about the inflation, Imran Khan pointed out that every other political party staged protest during his tenure against inflation. “These people used to criticize us for rising inflation and incompetence.” he told his supporters.

“During our three-and-a-half-year tenure, the petrol price increased by Rs50 only and was being sold at Rs150 per litre.” he said, adding that we PTI gave a subsidy of Rs. 200 billion on these commodities.

“We were also asked by International Monetary Fund (IMF) to end subsidies, but we provided relief to the people from rising inflation.” Imran Khan told his supporters in the video message.

He pointed out that the incumbent government had increased the price of petrol by Rs. 85 per litre in just two months while his government kept diesel prices lower deliberately.

“When diesel prices increase all transport becomes more expensive”, he said, pointing out that farmers usually face more problems due to the increase in diesel prices.

“This Sunday, all of you have to protest at 9pm and I will address all of you via video link at 10pm,” said Imran Khan while asking his supporters to hold “peaceful” demonstrations.
