Islamabad authorities have announced revised business timings in the federal capital in order to save electricity and curb loadshedding in the federal capital. According to the details, a notification has been issued by the district magistrate office that has directed markets and shipping malls to close by 9pm to curb power outages.
“There is an urgent need to take the effective measures for the conservation of energy in Islamabad Capital Territory by doing business activities in day light without imparting possible adverse effect on the business activities so that electricity remains available for critical establishments.” said the notification.
The notification adds that markets, including shopping malls, bakeries, offices, storerooms, warehouses, cattle markets will close at 9:00PM as per the new Islamabad business timings issued by the capital administration. Furthermore, restaurants, clubs, tandoors, eateries, cafes, cinemas, theaters or other places of public amusement will close by 11:30PM.
Marriage Halls, Marquees, and Exhibition Halls will close by 10:00PM. However, there will be exceptions for hospitals and laboratories, commercial ambulance service areas, medical clinics, pharmacies and medical stores, petrol pumps, tire shops, service areas, bus stops, vegetable market, milk shops, and any other business expressly exempted through notification.
The new Islamabad business timings will go into effect immediately and remain in place for two months.
