In a bid to mitigate the environmental pollution, the Islamabad authorities have decided to ban entry of vehicles contributing to air pollution in the federal capital from June 21. According to the details, the announcement was made by the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Twitter.
In a Tweet, the Islamabad Police quoted Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Durrani saying that Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has been directed to ensure implementation of the orders and ban entry of vehicles causing pollution in Islamabad from June 21.
The measure has been taken to protect the environment and it would assist the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in its environment protection campaign. He added that Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) would follow a zero-tolerance policy on the matter.

Furthermore, the concerned departments have been instructed to stop issuing fitness certificates to vehicles that do not pass the required inspection and criteria. The IGP has instructed to avail the services of motor vehicle examiner to inspect vehicles where needed.
Moreover, the Islamabad Police has stated that entry of vehicles with pressure horns will also be banned in Islamabad.
