Telecom companies have warned Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) of data and signal loadshedding in Pakistan due to constant power outages that have exceeded their backup capacity.
According to the details, the telecom companies have warned Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) of planned data and signal loadshedding across the country if power crisis continue.
Furthermore, the telecom operators have said that high fuel costs and difficult battery import requirements are not making the matter any easier.
According to reports, the top cellular companies have written a letter to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) warning of connectivity failure stating that they are unable to deal with the situation despite having generators and batteries for backup.
These companies have added that power outages have exceeded the backup capacities.
PTA Responds
The regulator has reportedly responded to these warnings and asked the telecom companies to clearly state the challenges being faced by them.
PTA has added that it holds the authority to grand relaxation to Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) in the rollout target in case of genuine economic challenges.
