Protests have erupted against Samsung Pakistan over alleged blasphemy. According to the details, the people broke out in protest at Saddar area of Karachi after blasphemous remarks were made against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by someone at Samsung Pakistan.
According to details revealed by the police, a Wi-Fi device was installed by Samsung Pakistan at Star City Mall in Karachi’s Saddar that allegedly displayed comments against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the Service Set Identifier (SSID) or the network (Wi-Fi) name, which led to severe backlash and protests erupted against Samsung Pakistan in the the country’s largest mobile market.
According to Preedy SHO, the police got the device shut down and arrested several employees of the company. Meanwhile, an enquiry committee led by Saddar SP has been constituted to investigate the incident and serious action would be taken against anyone found involved in blasphemy against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his companions.
What really happened?
According to sources, the news circulating on social media isn’t true and no Wi-Fi device was involved in the incident and the blasphemous comments were made by someone in the company’s upper management during a meeting. An anonymous source told INCPak that Samsung Pakistan’s City Manager had allegedly made blasphemous remarks against the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
However, the real matter is being covered up while the Wi-Fi story is being reported everywhere. The police has apparently arrested the alleged accused along with several other employees in the company’s retail division. Meanwhile, Samsung Pakistan has closed all retail outlets across Pakistan temporarily.
