The Government of Balochistan on Monday announced week-long holiday for public and private schools in the province as they will remain closed due to the severe torrential rains that continue to cause destruction.
In the notification, the Balochistan Education Department stated that all government and private schools will remain closed from August 22 (Monday) to August 26 (Friday).
The schools will reopen from 27 August (Saturday).

The decision has been taken on account of the heavy rain taking place in the province.
It is pertinent to mention major highways connecting to the province have been cut off as a result of the severe rain and flooding and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested the Army Chief General Javed Bajwa to provide helicopters to reach people stranded due to the flooding.
Furthermore, NDMA has forecast more rains, flash flooding in the eastern parts of Balochistan during the next 24 hours.
In a similar move, Larkana District Administration has also closed all public and private schools after being declared calamity-hit due to the severe torrential rains.
