The Government of Punjab has announced a public holiday in Lahore on September 17 (Saturday) to mark the occasion of the annual Urs of Data Gunj Baksh.
“It is hereby notified for general public that a local holiday in Lahore District shall be observed on 17th September, 2022 (Saturday), on account of 979th Annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Data Gunj Baksh (RA).” the notification read.
The notification added that the public holiday shall only be observed at the District Level and its subordinate offices located in Lahore District.

Moreover, a three day public holiday has been announced in Lahore for schools in the neighborhood of Data Darbar amid the Urs celebrations of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RH) aka Data Gunj Baksh.
According to the details, Government Central Model School, Rattigan Road and Government Central Model School, Lower Mall will remain closed for three days.
Similarly, Government Muslim High School No. 2, Government Saleem Model High School, Government Higher Secondary School on Ravi Road will also remain closed for three days.
These schools will reopen on Monday.
Furthermore, the Provincial Government has also made security arrangements, including installation of surveillance cameras to monitor the Urs celebrations.
