WhatsApp is constantly improving different aspects of the messaging application and now the company is reportedly working on increasing the group size to a whopping 1024 participants and the feature has already started rolling out to beta testers, which means that it will be released more widely soon.
According to WABetaInfo, a service that tracks the encrypted messenger for new and upcoming features, WhatsApp has increased the group size once again from 512 participants to a whopping 1024 in the latest beta of WhatsApp for Android and iOS.
WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of the updated group limit.
It is pertinent to mention that other similar messaging apps like Telegram already have the ability to create massive groups of several hundred thousand people.
The bigger group size is already available to some users on WhatsApp for Android and iOS beta, while other users will have to wait until the feature is released on a wider scale.
In May, WhatsApp also doubled the group size from 256 participants to 512 as well as allow users to send files up to 2GB in size compared to 100MB.
