The Federal Government has announced a public holiday tomorrow (9 November 2022) on the occasion of Iqbal Day.
According to a notification issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the country will observe Iqbal Day (9th November), therefore, tomorrow (9 November 2022) has been declared as a public holiday.
It is pertinent to mention that the public holiday on Iqbal Day had been suspended by the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) during its previous tenure back in 2015.
In another notification issued by the Cabinet Division, it was stated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to restore the Public Holiday on the occasion of Allama Iqbal Day (9th November 2022).
“Therefore, Wednesday 9th November, 2022 shall be observed as a public holiday throughout the country.” said the notification.
Sindh Announces Public Holiday on Iqbal Day
The Government of Sindh has also issued a separate notification to announce the public holiday on Iqbal Day tomorrow (9 November 2022) throughout the province. It added that all Government Offices, Autonomous Bodies, Corporations under the Administrative Control of Government of Sindh shall remain closed on 9 November 2022.
However, the order does not apply to essential services and the departments and offices engaged in prevention and control of COVID-19, and rain emergency duties.

Punjab Announces Public Holiday on Iqbal Day
Similarly, the Government of Punjab has also announced a public holiday on 9 November 2022 on the occasion of Iqbal Day. It is notified for general information that 9th November, 2022 (Wednesday) shall be observed as Public Holiday.” said the notification.
