The Sindh Government in collaboration with the World Bank is planning to launch a Karachi to Sukkur Bullet Train Project, which will start off with a Karachi to Hyderabad Bullet Train during the first phase of the project, to cater to the people’s transportation needs.
According to the details, Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, on Thursday presided over a meeting to review the arrangements regarding the construction on Karachi’s Yellow Line BRT project, where he announced plans of the provincial government to launch the Karachi to Sukkur Bullet Train Project.
The minister added that Government of Sindh was working hard in order to improve the transport system in Karachi. Furthermore, he added that the government was planning to launch a Karachi to Hyderabad Bullet Train Project in the first phase of the collaboration with the World Bank.
He also invited the World Bank to bring 300 buses for Karachi under the Peoples Bus Service, which has been operational for a few months now.
Yellow Line BRT Project
Transport Minster, Sharjeel Memon, briefed the meeting about Karachi’s Yellow Line BRT, which is a 21 kilometers project that would start from Dawood Chowrangi and end at Numaish.
According to the conceptual plan, the Karachi Yellow Line BRT project will be 21 kilometers (km) long and will include 17.6 km at grade, and 3.2 km underground with a total of 28 stations across the routes.
