Recently, a post has been circulating on social media stating that State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has stopped international payments from SadaPay Mastercard after the Electronic Money Institution (EMI) sent a notification to users warning them from making ‘business-related international payments.”
The notification was taken out of context by a famous social media page, which started reporting that State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) was stopping international payments via SadaPay Mastercard entirely. However, this isn’t true and all international payments of a ‘personal capacity’ will continue to work using the EMI.
This was confirmed by SadaPay representative on Facebook. “We’d like to clarify and emphasize that this news is completely false.” the post stated. “The notification we sent was taken our users has clearly been misinterpreted.” it added and clarified that it was specifically meant for “business-related international payments.”
“This means any international purchases in a personal capacity using your SadaPay card are completely fine.” it said, adding that users can continue using their SadaPay Mastercard for international payments on Amazon, AliExpress, Netflix, or the Google Play Store.
