Pakistani entrepreneur, Javed Afridi, the man behind Morris Garages (MG) Pakistan and the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, has taken to Twitter to tease the possible launch of another vehicle in Pakistan, the MG 4 EV (Electric Vehicle), despite the Haier and Changhong Ruba CEO being unable to meet previous promise of introducing a cheap hatchback, the MG 3, in Pakistan.
Taking to Twitter, Javed Afridi shared an image of the MG 4 EV (which is also known as the MG Mulan in China) in blue and red colors, while mentioning the car’s ability travel from Lahore to Peshawar on a single charge as the vehicle is capable of doing 490.85 kilometers (km) on a single charge.

Furthermore, he mentioned the MG 4 EV can be fully charged (100%) in just 35 minutes and while of these feature make it sound like an appealing car, we shouldn’t get too excited as the Pakistani entrepreneur has a habit of using such tactics to gain publicity and never comes through with any promises.
It is pertinent to mention that Javed Afridi had teased the launch of the MG 3, which would have been the cheapest 1500cc hatchback in Pakistan, but the vehicle to date has not been officially announced by MG Pakistan in any manner, which means that all those social media posts were made for publicity.

So we’ll have to wait and see whether we’ll actually get the MG 4 EV in Pakistan. It is doubtful considering the current economic situation of the country and restriction on imports and release of Letter of Credit (LCs) by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in order to save country’s depleting foreign exchange reserves.
However, we have compiled some basic information about the vehicle below.
Specifications
The MG 4 EV is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle that provides a total power of 150kW (204 PS) and total torque of 250 Nm. However, despite claims of Javed Afridi on the vehicle’s ability to fully charge (100%) in just 35 minutes, the official website claims a charge from 10% to 80% for a 64 kWh battery back using a 150 kW public rapid charger.
It bears mentioning that MG 4 EV comes with two battery options, a 51 kWh and a 64 kWh, but the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) that underpins MG 4 EV, can also support up to 150 kWh battery back.

MG 4 EV Price in Pakistan
Javed Afridi did not hint at a possible price of the MG 4 EV in Pakistan – but that would not have made a difference of confirmed the launch based on previous records – and it will be hard to determine the price due to the volatile situation of the country’s economy and constantly fluctuating exchange rates.
