The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday decided to de-seal Islamabad’s Centaurus Mall after a brief closure. According to the details, the decision to de-seal Centaurus Mall was taken in view of the difficulties being faced by traders.
“The Centaurus Mall will be de-sealed soon.” said the CDA, adding that the section which comes under building violations will remain closed.
The development comes after widespread protests by traders and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the federal capital over the government’s decision to seal Centaurus Mall. It is pertinent to mention that many criticized the government decisions and claimed it was an act of ‘political revenge’.

The CDA had sealed Centaurus Mall on Monday night over lack of safety measures after the fire. However, the decision came after Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) premier, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas — who owns the mall, had criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for “not mentioning the sacrifices of Kashmiri people” during a speech on Monday.
