Pakistani batsman, Babar Azam, has been named as the captain for Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming eighth season of the Pakistan Super League aka PSL 8 2023.
Babar Azam will replace pacer Wahab Riaz, who captained the Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 7.
Javed Afridi, the owner of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise, hopes that his team would show impressive performance in the upcoming edition of PSL under leadership of Babar Azam.

It is pertinent to mention that Babar Azam had played for the Karachi Kings since 2017 after leaving Islamabad United.
The Pakistani batsman has a combined runs of 2413, which makes him the highest scorer of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
