Regardless of speculations, the hit supernatural drama, Wednesday, will likely remain with Netflix for the second season.
There have been several reports regarding Wednesday leaving Netflix for its second season following the deal between Amazon and MGM, which is the production company of the hit comedy-horror series.
However, it was pointed out by a foreign publication that Netflix will retain rights to the show as it signed the contract before the deal between Amazon and MGM was finalized.
This means that Netflix will retain rights to the Addams Family spin-off, Wednesday, for at least the second season, unless the streaming giant decides to cancel the show like several other of its hits like Warrior Nun or Fate: The Winx Saga.
Wednesday premiered its eight-episode season on Netflix in November 2022 and quickly became the number one show on the streaming giant worldwide and broke the previous record of the most watched show held by Stranger Things 4.
The fantasy-series stars American actor, Jenna Ortega, in the lead role of Wednesday Addams alongside Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, and Percy Hynes White among others.
Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams in the 1991’s Addams Family and 1993’s Addams Family Values, also appeared in the series as Marilyn Thornhill.
