The Pakistan Super League 2023 or PSL 8 opening ceremony will now be held in Karachi instead of Multan as reported earlier.
According to the details, the new Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management has decided to move the PSL 8 opening ceremony from Multan Cricket Stadium to the Karachi National Bank Cricket Arena (NBCA).
Karachi will be hosting the Pakistan Super League 2023 or PSL 8 opening ceremony and the first match at the National Bank Cricket Arena, while Multan will only host the round stage matches at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
However, the final schedule of PSL 8 is yet to be announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board, which will confirm the venue for the PSL 2023 opening ceremony as well.
Last week, it was reported that Multan will be hosting it first-ever opening ceremony for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Meanwhile, the matches will be held between Karachi and Multan during the first phase of the tournament before moving to Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Some reports state that PCB’s new management is looking to add Quetta as a fifth venue for the PSL 8 tournament and the PCB management was working closely with local administration for upgradation of the Bugti Stadium.
However, there is no confirmation on this report.
The PSL 8 opening ceremony and the first match are scheduled to be held on February 13 with the tournament concluding on March 19, 2023.
