Samsung has released the high-awaited Samsung Galaxy S23 series this month, which is the company’s flagship smartphone. If you are planning to import the Samsung Galaxy S23 in Pakistan, you will have to pay the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Tax on Samsung Galaxy S23 to get PTA Approval, which allows use of a sim card on the device beyond certain period of time.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) needs to approve a smartphone’s IMEI in order for a person to use that smartphone locally beyond a 60 day period. As for the Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+ or S23 Ultra, you will need to pay the FBR Tax to get the PTA Approval if you plan on using the smartphone locally.
The mobile phone tax imposed by FBR on Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be different on a CNIC (ID Card) and Passport, which offers a little discount for those coming from aboard. However, you will need to have visited aboard in recent weeks in order to be eligible for the discount.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Tax
Passport | Rs. 99,800 |
CNIC (ID Card) | Rs. 110,500 |
Samsung Galaxy S23+ Tax
Passport | Rs. 127,000 |
CNIC (ID Card) | Rs. 145,801 |
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tax
Passport | Rs. 131,000 |
CNIC (ID Card) | Rs. 152,424 |
So, if you’re planning on buying a Samsung Galaxy S23 in Pakistan, you will have to pay the Samsung Galaxy S23 Tax, which is mentioned above to get PTA Approval and be able to use the smartphone in Pakistan.
