The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) made made allowed parents in the UAE access to cameras in school bus to monitor their children while commuting to and from school.
According to the details, the SPEA has installed several cameras and other safety devices on 2,000 school buses in the UAE.
These measures are part of the “Your Children Are Safe” initiative that was launched under the directives of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, a member of the supreme council and Ruler of Sharjah.
Furthermore, 3,250 bus drivers and supervisors have been trained under this initiative.
In the first phase, which took place prior to the pandemic, GPS trackers were installed on buses to allow control and monitoring.
Now, the school buses have been equipped with cameras as part of the phase two.
Meanwhile, bus supervisors have been provided 2,000 tablets to keep student’s data, while parents in the UAE will be allowed access to their school bus cameras to keep an eye on their children.
Moreover, a circular has been sent to all private schools to carry out the same measures by installing security cameras and safety devices.
