Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad United – PSL 8 Match 12 Highlights

With the eighth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL 8 2023) nearing end of the first leg, tournament’s Match 12 takes place between Peshawar Zalmi vs Islamabad at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi. It was an easy win for Islamabad United, who won the match by 6 wickets with 31 balls remaining.

Islamabad won the toss and elected to bowl first, which proved to be the right decision as they were able to restrict Peshawar Zalmi to just 153 runs despite the openers giving them a tough time.

Peshawar Zalmi had a wonderful start with both openers, Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam, managing to score 40 and 75 runs, respectively. However, Islamabad United were brilliant with the ball in the second half of the innings and barely let anyone score much at all.

Once the opening wickets were gone, Peshawar Zalmi’s remaining batting order failed to perform and barely scored over 10 runs.

Despite losing their opener, Colin Munro, in the third over, Islamabad kept going strong with Rahmanullah Gurbaz scoring 62 runs off 31 balls, while Rassie Van Der scored 42 runs from just 29 balls.

Shadab Khan was also dismissed for just 3 runs, but Asif Ali and Azam Khan guided the team to what was an easy victory with 31 balls remaining. They both scored 29 and 9 runs, respectively.
