Quetta Gladiators vs Multan Sultans – PSL 8 Match 28 Highlights

Multan Sultans won the match against Quetta Gladiators by 9 runs in the Match 28 of the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8 2023) held in Pindi Cricket Stadium.

Quetta Gladiators won the toss and decided to bowl first, which may not have been the greatest decision as they failed to restrict Multan Sultans, who managed to set a target of 263 runs.

Multan Sultans have outdone themselves with opener Usman Khan scoring the fastest hundred in PSL history in just 36 balls, breaking teammate Rilee Rossouw’s record of 41 balls, which was set yesterday’s match against Peshawar Zalmi.

Usman Khan scored 120 runs off just 43 balls, while Mohammad Rizwan also managed 55 runs off 29 balls. Rilee Rossouw had a rough day as he just scored 15 runs off 9 balls. However, Tim David and Kieron Pollard managed to contribute 43 and 23 runs, respectively.

Quetta’s bowlers failed miserably, especially Qais Ahmad, who conceded 77 runs in 4 overs and Mohammad Nawaz with 50 runs in 4 overs.

In the second innings, Quetta Gladiators had a rough start as they lost an early wicket with Jason Roy being dismissed by Anwar Ali for just 6 runs. However, Martin Guptill managed to keep going for a bit longer and scored 37 runs off 14 balls.

Omair Yousaf scored a brilliant and much needed 67 runs off 36 balls, while Mohammad Hafeez failed to perform as he was sent back with just 1 run off 2 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed was able to rack up 53 runs off 31 balls with Muhammad Nawaz scoring just 16 runs.

Umaid Asif was dismissed without any runs,

Abbas Afridi was able to take 5 wickets for just 47 runs in his four overs and a hat-trick as well and he was crucial to Multan Sultans’ victory in today’s match.
