Lahore Qalandars has defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 4 wickets in Match 33 (Eliminator 2) of the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2023) to qualify for PSL 8 Final, which is scheduled to be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore tomorrow (18 March 2023).
Peshawar won the toss and decided to bat first, which allowed them to set a target of 172 runs for the Lahore Qalandars despite a rough start and early loss of wicket as Saim Ayub was dismissed for just 9 runs for 5 balls.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Haris had a wonderful partnership as both scored 42 and 85 runs, respectively. However, Tom Kohler-Cadmore was unable to perform and was dismissed for no runs.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa added a much needed 25 runs towards setting a target of 172 runs.
Lahore Qalandars had a rough start as well with Fakhar Zaman being dismissed for just 6 runs off 5 balls, however, Mirza Tahir Baig continued and scored 54 runs in 42 balls.
Ahsan Bhatti and Abdullah Shafique were dismissed quickly and scored only 15 and 10 runs, respectively. However, Sam Billings was able to add a much needed 28 runs, while Sikandar Raza scored 23 runs.
Towards the end, David Wiese and Shaheen Afridi guided the team to victory by scoring 9 and 11 runs, respectively.
