A decline is expected in the petrol prices in Pakistan from April 1 following the reduction in international crude oil prices.
According to reports, the price of diesel in Pakistan will likely be slashed by Rs. 15 to 20 per litre, while price of petrol is expected to go down by Rs. 4 to 5 per litre.
During the last fortnight review, the government raised prices of petroleum products in Pakistan by up to Rs. 13 per litre citing depreciation of PKR against USD and increase in prices registered by Platts Singapore as the reason.

Furthermore, it is pertinent to mention that the federal government is also working on a petrol relief package for the poor.
Under the petrol relief package, which is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, those earning under Rs. 60,000 will get a subsidy of Rs. 50 per litre, while everyone else will have to an additional Rs. 50 per litre to finance the scheme.
According to the government, those with a motorbike will be provided 21 litres of petrol every months, while owners of cars with 800cc engines or below will be given 30 litres per month.
Once, these individuals have received their quota for the month, they will have to pay extra like everyone else.
