The price of Suzuki Alto has already increased significantly, but an insane amount of ‘On Money’ being charged from customers on top of the company’s original price tag in order to get immediate delivery of the vehicle.
According to reports, Suzuki Alto is being sold for Rs. 3.3 million, which includes Rs. 365,000 as ‘On Money’ if the customer wants to get swift delivery of their vehicle instead of waiting anywhere from a few months to over a year.
It is no surprise that Pakistan’s ‘On Money’ culture continues to thrive as some people opt to pay extra in order to get immediate delivery of their vehicle instead of waiting several months after making payment to the automotive company.
Suzuki Alto is the company’s best-seller after Suzuki Mehran, but the recent economic situation has made business tough for the company, which has recorded extremely low sales during the last few months.
In January, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) sold only 44 units of Suzuki Alto and while the sales have improved, the company still struggles from restrictions on imports, non-issuance of LCs, and constant depreciation of Pakistan Rupee against US Dollar (USD to PKR).
The company has observed several non-production days (NPDs) as a result of limited resources and raw materials due to restrictions on imports and non-issuance of LCs. As of writing this, the company’s production remains closed till 15th April.
