With the Holy Month of Ramadan coming to an end, the Federal Government has announced 5-day public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 in Pakistan.
According to the notification, the 5-day public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 will commence from 21 April 2023 and conclude on 25 April 2023.
“It is for general information that the Prime Minister is pleased to declare 21st to 25th April, 2023 (Friday to Tuesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.” said the notification issued by the Cabinet Division.

Earlier, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) said that Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated on 22 April 2023.
However, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) is set to meet on Thursday (20 April 2023) for the sighting of the Shawwal moon to confirm whether Ramadan will comprise of 29 days or 30 days this year.
The RHRC’s Secretary General, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, has said that chances of the moon sighting on April 20 are very low and Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 will likely be observed on April 22 after completing 30 days of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has announced special trains for citizens to travel to their homes in order to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 public holidays with their families.
