As matches for the Pakistan and New Zealand series shift to the twin cities, the authorities have issued a detailed traffic plan for Islamabad and Rawalpindi to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during this period.
Both teams will be staying at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad and they will play two 2 T20Is and 2 ODIs a the Pindi Cricket Stadium during which a special traffic plan will be followed to avoid inconvenience to commuters.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi Traffic Plan For Pakistan and New Zealand Series
These matches mean that Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy Road in front of Serena Hotel’s main gate will be closed for general traffic. However, all traffic will be diverted to Globe Chowk via Convention Center and access to Serena Hotel from Globe Chowk will remain open.
Furthermore, Murree Road from Faizabad to Double Road will also remain closed for all types of traffic on departure and arrival on both teams. During the actual matches, Stadium Road will be completely closed for traffic on both sides from 9th Avenue Chowk towards Double Road.
According to Islamabad and Rawalpindi’s traffic plan for Pakistan and New Zealand series, the traffic coming from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad to Expressway, while commuters coming from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad will be diverted from 6th Road Chowk to Saidpur Road.
Meanwhile, the traffic coming from 9th Avenue in Islamabad will be diverted to IJP Road.
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has requested everyone to follow the given traffic plan in order to avoid any inconvenience as well as untoward incidents.
