Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) increased the price of Suzuki Wagon R in Pakistan, which was made applicable earlier this month on 6th April 2023.
According to the details, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) hiked the prices of all vehicles, including the Suzuki Wagon R, Suzuki Cultus, Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Bolan, and the Suzuki Ravi.
The price hikes come as Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) along with all other automotive companies continue to struggle amid the country’s economic downfall and depreciation of the local currency (USD to PKR).
In a notification, PSMC announced new prices of all vehicles, including the Suzuki Wagon R, which saw an increment of Rs. 152,000 for the base variant, while the car’s flagship or top-of-the-line model saw a price hike of Rs. 178,000.
According to the notification, the new price of the Suzuki Wagon R VXL in Pakistan is now Rs. 3,214,000 after a hike of Rs. 152,000 from the old rate of Rs. 3,062,000.
Meanwhile, the price of Wagon R VXL has now reached Rs. 3,412,000 from the old price of Rs. 3,248,000 after a increase of Rs. 164,000.
Lastly, the price of Suzuki Wagon R AGS in Pakistan is now Rs. 3,741,000 after a jump of Rs. 178,000 from the old rate of Rs. 3,563,000.
Suzuki Wagon R Price in Pakistan
Variant | Old Price (PKR) | New Price (PKR) | Difference (PKR) |
---|---|---|---|
Wagon R VXR | 3,062,000 | 3,214,000 | 152,000 |
Wagon R VXL | 3,248,000 | 3,412,000 | 164,000 |
Wagon R AGS | 3,563,000 | 3,741,000 | 178,000 |
Suzuki Wagon R was a vehicle that was introduced a couple of years ago for less than Rs. 1 million in Pakistan. However, the country’s depreciating currency and economic instability fueled by political instability has resulted in record inflation that has increased prices of vehicles by several fold.
The frequent price hikes in the local automotive industry are mainly due to the poor economic conditions of the country and the depreciation of the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar (USD to PKR).
The automotive industry has suffered major damage as sales have fallen drastically and companies are forced to observe non-production days (NPDs) because of import restrictions, which are causing inventory shortages.
