The crescent moon for the month of Shawwal was sighted in Saudi Arabia, which means Eid al-Fitr 2023 in the Kingdom will begin on Friday (21 April 2023).
The announcement was made by the Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court on Thursday.
This year, Saudi Arabia observed 29 days of Ramadan, which started on 23 March 2023.
Eid al-Fitr is celebrated at the end of Ramadan, which lasts for 29 or 30 days based on the sighting of the crescent moon for the Islamic month of Shawwal.
