Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) has announced another extension to its production shutdown for another 15 days, citing the country’s economic condition and restrictions on opening of Letter of Credit (LC), and halting of foreign payments as the main reason behind the decision.
The company’s production shutdown initially started on March 8 and it was expected to end on March 31. However, the company has kept production closed for almost two months now by extending the the shutdown several times.
In the latest notification, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) has announced to extend the production shutdown for another 15 days till May 15, 2023. According to the company, the Government’s stringent measures amid the economic crisis have severely disrupted the company’s supply chain.
“As a result, the Company is not in a position to continue with its production and ultimately has continued to shut down its plant from May 01, 2023 to May 15, 2023.” the company wrote in a notification issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
