Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has ordered the immediate release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and Former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, who was arrested from Islamabad High Court on May 9th by Rangers personnel, who acted on orders of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The order came shortly after the PTI chief was presented before the court after he was brought in a convoy of 15 vehicles amid tight security. The court has also directed Imran Khan to approach the Islamabad High Court (IHC) once again.
The Supreme Court (SC) has declared Imran Khan’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case as ‘illegal’ and immediately ordered the relief of the PTI chief. However, the court added that Imran Khan will have to accept whatever the Islamabad High Court (IHC) decides.
The three-member bench that presided over the hearing included the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Athar Minallah, and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.
