Aamir Liaquat Hussain is a Pakistani politician, broadcaster, poet, and religious personality. Husain was born on 5 July 1971 at Karachi. He has been the host of the TV program Aalim Aur Aalam on ARY Digital since 6 August 2010 previously appearing on Geo News hosting the show Aalim Online. Aamir Liaquat Hussain contested in 2002 and he was elected to the National Assembly affiliated party with Muttahida Qaumi Movement. He resigned from his post a member of the National Assembly and from his seat as the Minister of Religious Affairs in 2007.

In 2005, an investigation into his background revealed that his degrees were fake. In 2010 he was expelled from Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

Mubashir luqman, hosts a program Khari Baat at Dunya News TV revealed that the educational degrees of Dr. Aamir Liaquat are fake. Mubashir luqman said they are trying to contact Mr. Amir Liaquat Hussain for the confirmation of this issue but their is no response from Amir Liaquat.
Mubashir told that Amir Liaquat Hussain passed his Bachelor of Islamic Studies on 17 March 1995 and Masters on 15 March 2002 but Amir Liaquat got the degree of PHD on 5th April 2002, in this way he did his PHD only in 20 days, all these degrees are issued from Trinity College Spain.

On 14th August 2011, a controversial video of behind the scenes from Aalim Online with Aamir Liaquat using vulgar language at different instances of his show recordings, hit the social media websites on Kalam TV, Facebook and Youtube. The video quickly became viral attracting thousands of views in hours. The video prompted Liaquat to talk about the viral phenomenon the next day in his program and on Twitter, calling it fake and a campaign by a certain TV channel and people who don’t want message of Islam to spread, to malign his credibility.
