Fun Fact: There Are No Pockets in the Pool Tables in Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’ Music Video

Recently, there are some social media users that have noticed an interesting detail in the music video for Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” and pointed out that there are no pockets in any of the pool tables.

The detail was noticed in the 4K version of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” that was released over 12 years ago and has amassed more than 959 million views on the video streaming website alone, which does not include other music platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

However, a quick Google search did get us an answer as to why the pool tables in music video for King of Pop’s “Beat It” are missing pockets. “That’s because tables shown are for a different type of cue sport, a pocket-less game called carom billiards.” stated Michael Jackson’s official website.

Michael Jackson, who is referred to as the King of Pop, released his popular “Beat It” in 1983 and the song quickly climbed up the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at the number one spot for three weeks.

The song is considered to be Michael Jackson’s third most successful Thriller single following “The Girl is Mine” and “Billie Jean”. As of 2023, “Beat It” has over 921 million streams on Spotify alone and ranks at number two following “Billie Jean” with over 1.4 billion streams.
