City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has issued a detailed Traffic Plan for 7th, 10th and 11th Muharram (26, 29 and 30 July 2023) for commuters in order to avoid any inconvenience and untoward incident during processions.
Rawalpindi Traffic Plan – 7th Muharram (26 July 2023)
According to the Rawalpindi Traffic Plan, the 7th Muharram (26 July 2023) procession will commence at Maghrib prayer and conclude at sunrise the following morning (Fajr).
The procession’s route will include Nishtar street, Kuri Road, Chah Sultan, Sadiqabad Road, Committee Chowk, Jamia Majid Road, and Imam Bargah Qadeemi, which will remain completely closed for traffic.
Furthermore, it must be noted that commuters will be provided with alternate routes and parking of any type of vehicle along the route of processions will be prohibited.

Rawalpindi Traffic Plan – 10th Muharram (29 July 2023)
The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi also shared a detailed Traffic Plan for 10th Muharram (29 July 2023). According to the 10th Muharram Traffic Plan, the procession will commence at 7.00 am and conclude at Isha prayer.
The procession will start from Imam Bargah Yadgar Hussain and Imam Bargah Col. Maqbool Hussain and all roads along the route of procession will remain closed, including 5th Road, Commercial Market, Asghar Mall Road, Kartar Pura, Banni Chowk, Jamia Masjid Road, Hamilton Chowk, Bansa Nawala Chowk, Dingi Khoi, Paurana Qila, Committee Chowk, Alam Khan Road, Masjid Chowk, Naya Mohalla Chowk, and Fawara Chowk.
Moreover, there will be another procession on 10th Muharram, which will commence from 9.00 am in the morning and conclude at Maghrib prayer.
The procession will also pass through Mughalabad Road, Abid Majeed Road, Ali Chowk, Qasai Chowk, Dispensary, Tench Road will also remain closed for all traffic during the Muharram procession.
Meanwhile, there will be alternate routes for commuters during the procession. The details of the Rawalpindi Traffic Plan for 29 July 2023 (10th Muharram) are provided below.

Rawalpindi Traffic Plan – 11th Muharram (30 July 2023)
On 11th Muharram (30 July 2023), the procession will commence from Peshawar Road area at 2.00 pm and conclude at Isha prayer. According to the Traffic Plan, Peshawar Road, ABL Street, Misrial Road, and Hali Road will remain closed for traffic.
