The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is considering to increase the fare for Orange Line, Blue Line, and Green Line Metro bus services after the recent hike in petroleum prices, which is going to add more burden on the masses who rely on public transport for their daily commute.
According to the details, the proposal to increase the fare for the Metro bus services will be presented at the upcoming CDA board meeting and the final verdict on the fare hike will be decided during this meeting.
The CDA is considering a massive hike of 100% in these fares, which is going to take Green and Blue Line Metro bus fare from Rs. 30 to Rs. 60. Meanwhile, the fare for Orange Line Metro bus service is likely to be increased from Rs. 60 to Rs. 100.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Mass Transit Authority’s (PMA) is also mulling to increase Metro fares, which will take the ticket price of Rs. 50 for the Metro bus and Orange Line train.
