The caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Maqbool Baqar, has imposed a ban on the issuance of arms licenses across the province of Sindh.
According to the details, the Interior Secretary, acting on the directives of the caretaker Chief Minister, has issued a notification imposing the ban on new arms licenses.
The notification states that there will be a complete ban on the issuance of arms licenses from district commissioner offices and the interior ministry.
The decisions comes after criminals have been found using new weapons for street crimes and target killings during the last three months.
Investigators have disclosed that shells of bullets have been recovered from recent crimes that do not match any weapons used in previous offences.
It has been revealed that an active network involved in arms smuggling and providing weapons on rent basis has been active across the province.
Meanwhile, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has failed to provide a complete report of the street crimes and targeted killing in recent days. Therefore, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is looking into matters on its own.
They have arrested several suspects in connection to these crimes from different areas.
