TOBA TEK SINGH: At least fourteen people were injured in an explosion that took place in the bogey (carriage) of the Shalimar Express on Monday.
The train was travelling from Lahore to Karachi when the blast took place in the washroom of the bogey. Rescue teams reached the site of the explosion and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals.
Addressing news conference in Lahore today‚ he said three of them were in serious condition.
The Minister said investigations have been started into the blast.
He said a homemade bomb was planted in a washroom of a compartment.
Railways Minister, Saad Rafique said three of those injured were in critical condition and security was the responsibility of the private company operating the train.
DCO Toba Tek Singh, Dr Farah Masood said rescue efforts were underway and 20-22 people were in the boogey (carriage) when the explosion took place.
