The Government has finalized its decision to declare Wednesday as a weekly holiday in Lahore in order to combat worsening smog situation in the provincial capital.
According to the details, the Government has decided not to go through with the weekly holiday on Wednesday due to improvement in the Air Quality Index (AQI) over the past week.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated, “Based on better Air Quality Index, Wednesday remains a regular workday.”
He said that Secretary Transport, District Administration, and Police are in the field to crack down against all air pollution sources, adding that proactive measures were being taken to keep the AQI under control.

Earlier, the Government of Punjab was mulling to announce Wednesday as a weekly holiday in Lahore in order to combat the worsening smog situation in the provincial capital.
