South Africa has defeated Pakistan by 1 wicket in the 26th match of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 in Chennai. Proteas has now recorded five wins out of six matches, while Pakistan have only won two matches.
Aiden Markram was crucial for South Africa’s win with his score of 91 runs off 93 balls, while other batters barely scored over 30 runs. On the other hand, South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamsi played a vital role at controlling Pakistan’s score with 4 wickets.
Earlier, Pakistan was bowled out for just 270 runs in 46.4 overs with a poor performance from most of the batters. The openers were dismissed too early in the game with Abdullah Shafique scoring just 9 runs, while Imam-ul-Haq managed just 12 runs
However, Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan tried to boost the score alongside Mohammad Rizwan, who was dismissed for just 31 runs. Saud Shakeel and Shadab Khan managed to add much needed 52 and 43 runs, respectively.
After their removal, the batters fell very quickly and barely managed to add a significant amount of runs.
