Apple just unveiled their new 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro laptops, which are equipped with the company’s latest M3 chips.
The base model of the new 14″ MacBook Pro comes with the standard M3 chip but without the Touch Bar and it is the natural successor to the 13″ M1 MacBook Pro with a bigger form factor and a more expensive price.
The new M3 chips offer big improvement on the inside over the previous generation, while on the outside, the new laptops (M3 Pro and M3 Max options) come with a Space Black option, which is darker compared to the Space Gray and it is less of a fingerprint magnet.
According to Apple, the 16″ MacBook with M3 Pro can go for 22 hours on a single charge, while the 14″ variants come with a smaller battery and the M3 Max variants will also cut battery time in half for these laptops.
The I/O on the new MacBook Pro laptops is similar to the M2 counterparts with three Thunderbolt 14 ports, an HDMI port, an SD card reader, and a MagSafe connector charging.
Meanwhile, the screens are said to reach 600-nits of brightness, which is 20% more compared to the previous generation.
The base 14″ M3 MacBook Pro starts from $1,599 with 8GB Unified Storage and 512GB storage, while the 1TB option costs $200 more. Similarly, the 14″ MacBook Pro with M3 Pro starts at $1,999 with 18GB Unified Storage and 512GB storage, but there is an option for 1TB and 96W USB-C Power adapter for $2,399.
The flagship laptop sports the M3 Max with 36GB Unified Storage, 1TB storage and costs $3,199.
Meanwhile, the 16″ MacBook Pro has a starting price of $2,499 for M3 Pro, 18 GB Unified Storage, 512GB storage and 140W USB-C Power adapter, while the 36GB Unified Storage version costs $2,899.
There are also two options with the M3 Max at $3,499 with 36GB Unified Storage and $3,999 with 48GB Unified Storage.
