The smog in Lahore has worsened and the metropolis maintains its rank as the world’s most polluted city with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 514 on Saturday.
The AQI index provided by IQAir.com shows Lahore at the top of the World’s most polluted cities by a great margin.
As many as 500 residents have fallen sick due to the toxic smog and reached the emergency rooms of local hospitals.
According to the details, the smog has become a real threat to the citizens of Lahore with increasing levels.
As per details, more than 200 patients reached Jinnah Hospital, while 150 patients each arrived at Mayo Hospital and Ganga Ram Hospital due to smog related health issues.
According to APP, Professor Ashraf Zia at Jinnah Hospital said that patients were experiencing dry cough, sore throat, and itchy eyes along with difficulty in breathing due to the thick smog in Lahore.
The number of patients with problems related to nose, ear, throat, and lungs are spiked significantly.
Medical experts have suggested special precautionary measures for patients with lung and respiratory issue, advising them to stay indoors and wear masks and glasses when going outside.
