The National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) has issued a notice stating that vehicles without an M-TAG will not be allowed to entry on Motorway from 1 January 2024.
According to the details, the decision comes as part of the National Highway Authority’s (NHA) ongoing efforts to to improve the country’s motorway network and avoid traffic jams or long queues at any toll plaza.
No M-TAG, No Motorway
The National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) has set a deadline and instructed car owners to get their M-TAG by December 31, otherwise, they would not be allowed entry on any motorway from 1 January 2024.
The regulation has been issued for all motorways across the country, including Islamabad-Peshawar M-1, Lahore-Abdul Hakeem M-3, Pindi Bhattian-Multan M-4, Multan-Sukkur M-5, Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan M-14, Hasan Abdal-Mansehra Expressway E-35 and others.
It is pertinent to mention that nearly 150,000 vehicles pass through the Islamabad-Lahore M-2 Motorway everyday and vehicles with M-TAG could help significantly improve traffic congestion at entry and exit.
How to Get M-TAG?
The easiest way to get MTag for your vehicle is to head to the Motorway Toll Plaza such as M2 or M9 and visit the M-Tag issuance booth that are installed at the side of the Toll Plaza.

To check your M-Tag ID, users can use One Network App or call 1313.
