The UAE has sanctioned a housing policy enabling citizens to replace or resell houses, facilitating flexible loan schemes for Emiratis. The approval, part of the UAE’s commitment to housing Emiratis, allows beneficiaries to apply for mortgage transfers through the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme. This decision, made during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aligns with ongoing efforts to provide suitable housing.
Additionally, the Cabinet established the Emirates Drug Establishment, a federal body to enhance the UAE’s position in pharmaceutical and medical industries globally. This entity, led by Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, will promote research and development, regulate medical products, and contribute to the production and export of high-quality medical and pharmaceutical items.
The Cabinet also endorsed the UAE’s policy for integrated management of recyclable materials, expanding the list to include used tyres, electronic waste, plastic waste, used cooking oils, and aluminium dross. Furthermore, a professional licence policy at the Emirates Schools Establishment aims to guide recruitment, training, and promotion procedures.
Lastly, the UAE will host the Gulf Academy for Strategic and Security Studies headquarters, strengthening its role in regional strategic and security matters. The decisions underscore the nation’s commitment to housing, healthcare, environmental sustainability, education, and regional security.
