The UAE Cabinet has declared a Union Day holiday for the federal government, spanning from December 2 to December 4, 2023. Federal government employees are expected to resume work on Tuesday, December 5.
On Friday, December 1, ministries and federal entities’ employees will engage in remote work, excluding those with on-site responsibilities.
Abu Dhabi government employees are also granted a 3-day holiday, starting from December 2 to December 4, 2023, with regular working hours resuming on Tuesday, December 5. Similar to the federal government, a remote work arrangement is in place for Friday, December 1, except for roles requiring physical presence.
In Dubai, government entities’ employees will enjoy a 3-day weekend from Saturday, December 2, to Monday, December 4, 2023, resuming work on Tuesday, December 5. Like other jurisdictions, remote work will be implemented on Friday, December 1, except for roles necessitating on-site presence.
Private sector employees in the UAE will have a two-day break on December 2 and 3, as confirmed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation on its Twitter account.
As part of the 52nd UAE Union Day celebrations, the Organizing Committee has disclosed details of the official ceremony scheduled for December 2. The event, taking place at Expo City, Dubai, will narrate a compelling story of unity and collective progress, showcasing the UAE’s sustainability journey from its formation in 1971 to the present day.
