Lahore Traffic Police has made an announcement stating that cases will not be registered against individuals with a valid learner’s permit, expired or foreign driving licenses.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on X (formerly Twitter).
Earlier, the traffic police had imposed fines of Rs. 2,000 for individuals with valid learner’s permits. However, the statement did not specify whether fines would be applied to holders of expired driving licenses.

Previously, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had mandated authorities to arrest individuals driving without a license. Additionally, Station House Officers (SHOs) were warned of strict actions if they failed to enforce the court’s orders in their respective areas.
Recently, the Punjab Education Department prohibited students from bringing cars or motorcycles to schools, issuing a stringent directive to school heads in this regard.
