The Supreme Committee for the 2023 Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) Elections has conducted a thorough review of the electronic voting mechanisms, gearing up for the commencement of the voting process today (December 5).
Focus was directed toward the efforts undertaken at the Sharjah Chess Club voting center, specifically on preparations for receiving voters at the approved emirate-level voting centers. The emphasis during the review centered on implementing policies and plans to ensure the highest standards of transparency and impartiality.
The committee commended the directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who has extended full support for the success of the electoral process. There was also an emphasis on the significance of promoting community participation and empowering citizens to contribute to decision-making through the SCC.
During the meeting, executive plans for the voting process were discussed, including the review of logistical and technical needs, as well as human and financial resources. The electronic voting mechanisms, utilizing the UAE Pass smart app, were carefully examined, highlighting the option for remote electronic voting and the opening of in-person voting at accredited centers across different regions of the emirate.
The designated voting centers encompass the Sharjah Chess Club in Sharjah, Al Bustan Suburb Council in Al Dhaid, Khorfakkan Expo Centre in Khorfakkan, Kalba Neighbourhoods City Council in Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn City Council in Dibba Al Hisn, Al Madam Municipality in Al Madam, Al Bataeh Municipality in Al Bataeh, Maliha Cultural Club in Maliha, and the municipality of Al Hamriyah city in Al Hamriyah.
