Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Wi-Fi 7 upgrade for several flagship phones, including the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 14 series, as well as the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3. This advancement promises users faster network speeds, lower latency, and enhanced anti-interference capabilities, marking a significant stride into the new era of Wi-Fi technology.
Wi-Fi 7, also known as IEEE 802.11be – Extremely High Throughput, signifies the next generation of Wi-Fi standards. Building on the foundation laid by Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7 introduces key features such as 320 MHz bandwidth, 4096-QAM, Multi-RU (Resource Unit), multi-link operation, and multi-AP (Access Point) cooperation. These enhancements result in higher data transmission rates and reduced latency compared to Wi-Fi 6.
Wi-Fi 7 is anticipated to offer a throughput of up to 23 Gbps, a threefold increase over Wi-Fi 6. This significant speed boost holds the potential to deliver seamless connectivity and an improved user experience across various applications, ranging from streaming high-definition content to online gaming and other bandwidth-intensive tasks.
Xiaomi’s official announcement emphasizes that the Wi-Fi 7 upgrade goes beyond speed, symbolizing a holistic leap in user experience. The technology introduces multi-way connection capabilities, dynamic optimization, lower latency, and more robust anti-interference measures. Collectively, these advancements contribute to a more efficient and reliable Wi-Fi experience.
As Xiaomi propels its flagship phones into the Wi-Fi 7 era, users can expect a transformative shift in their connectivity experience. The Wi-Fi 7 upgrade extends to the company’s routers as well. The Xiaomi 10 Gigabit router and Xiaomi BE7000 Wi-Fi 7 Router have initiated firmware upgrades to incorporate Wi-Fi 7 features, with Version 1.1.6 now available for the Xiaomi 10 Gigabit router.
