The Punjab Government has launched electric rickshaws in collaboration with a private company during a meeting led by Secretary of Transport Ahmed Javaid Qazi at the transport secretariat. Secretary Ahmed Javaid Qazi, accompanied by experts, meticulously examined the electric rickshaw, which was successfully put into operation.
During the event, Secretary Qazi highlighted the significant environmental benefits of using these electric rickshaws, emphasizing their potential to reduce both air and noise pollution. The government’s dedication to sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation solutions is evident in the introduction of these eco-friendly vehicles.
Drivers of these electric rickshaws enjoy added convenience amid rising fuel prices. These vehicles have the capability to cover up to 150 kilometers on a single charge, providing a cost-effective and efficient alternative for transportation that addresses both economic and environmental issues.
This initiative reflects the government’s proactive approach towards embracing sustainable practices in the transportation sector, promoting cleaner and greener modes of commuting.
