The Special Education Department in Punjab has adjusted the school timings for special needs children due to the cold weather. According to a recent notification, the modified schedule will be in effect from January 10 to the end of February.
Under the updated school timings for special needs children, the classes will start at 9 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, except on Fridays, when the school day will conclude at (12 p.m.) noon.
To address the cold weather’s impact and ease financial concerns, the Department of Special Education has also relaxed the dress code, allowing students to wear sweaters and jackets of their choice alongside the uniform.
Previously, the provincial government had extended the winter vacations, closing all public and private educational institutions until January 10. Despite initially planning to reopen on January 1, schools remained closed due to the ongoing cold weather.
